We celebrate All Hallowtide each year at HHO with special resources shared ahead of the season and particular liturgical practices at both our services on the 3rd of November.

9am Sunday Worship

We are invited to remember our loved ones, who have gone home to God ahead of us, in a memorial component to the service.

We will then follow this in place of our usual devotions with a Spiritual communion and agape feast, using the preface for All Saints day (1st Nov).

So please send in pictures and dates of your dearly departed ones for remembering, and come prepared to share a meal in the after-worship space.

You could make some soul cakes to enjoy or pumpkin muffins and even mix yourself a cocktail or mocktail to celebrate the feast over the screen.

6pm All Hallows Contemplation

We will draw ourselves into reflection on the communion of Saints and give thanks to God for the promise made to us in the new covenant - that one day we will join the heavenly host and remain in God's peace for eternity.

Please feel welcome to bring a candle along to the contemplative service.

Guest preacher

This year we are very blessed to be welcoming Rev'd Cheryl as our guest preacher at weekly worship.

The Rev’d Canon Cheryl Selvage is Diocesan Hospital Ministries Coordinator and Head of Department Pastoral Care at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and worships at St Bartholomew’s, Mt Gravatt.

She has a BTh (BCT), a Grad Cert Mental Health (Monash University), a MEd Education Counselling (USQ), with special ministry interests in pastoral care, palliative care and GFS.

Here are some anglican focus articles by Rev'd Cheryl:

Please pray for Rev'd Cheryl as she prepares to join us at worship for the first time:

Lord Jesus, when you speak there is light and life. Please speak through all our preachers, especially Rev'd Cheryl, as she offers her ministry gifts to our community. Holy Spirit, please inspire her in preparation and in delivering the sermon. Creator, make us ready to welcome her and hear your word spoken through her. We ask these things in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
