Community members are invited to help build our second Christmastide Subscription!
Details:
Animals of HHO Christmastide Subscription
A message from the companion animals of HHO for every day of Christmas.
We are offering daily emails to all who purchase the subscription as a gift or for themselves.
The emails will be sent: 25 December – 5 January at 7.00am EAST daily
Subscribe/Register by date: 11th December
Cost (soft): $15AUD (You can also Pay it forward!)
What community members can contribute:
As a composer - Compositions need to be submitted by Sunday the 3rd of December.
To compose content for one of the 12 days which could include a combination of the following:
- A letter written from one of the HHO animals to the subscriber for Christmastide (100-200 words)
- A bio of a HHO companion animal
- A story about how they celebrate with their humans at Christmas (200 words or less)
- Some resources from our Companion Animal Ministry which you recommend or would like to use and why?
- A prayer for animals in need (composed specially or a favourite)
- A story about an animal who had an impact on your life - could be about wildlife who live near to you
- How you encounter God through animals/ in creation
- Recommended reading for animal welfare or awareness
- Songs, blogs, poems, books and other animal related art
- Resources/app links to things you find helpful for animal care/ prayer,
- Other inspirational contributions/quotes about animals/ creation spirituality,
- An image/picture of an animal with a reflection
- Song/ video (A link to a YouTube video and why you have chosen it),
- Something to do (suggested activity, craft, prayer practice, recipe...)
As a proof reader
Proof reading in collaboration with the composers (offering draft style feedback and suggestions for sentence structure and grammar).
As a double checker
Final proof reading and edits before the mail outs are set.
Things we wish to invite contributors to consider:
The suggested items are flexible and interchangeable, we are inviting contributions from the heart (education, experience, scholarship is not necessary) don't be afraid, come as you are!
Think of the audience:
- We hope to offer this to people who are alone during this season as a source of comfort and inspiration to draw nearer to God in creation.
- We hope to offer this as a gift to our Holy Hermits Online members and family as an extension to devotional practice.
- We hope folk will gift this subscription to others for Christmas (for people who are at a distance, those they don’t know what else to gift, for those they wish to share faith/invitation to HHO with in a special way),
- This also has the potential to be a beautiful gift to the wider church community (church partners).
