We will be recording our annual Blue Christmas Contemplative service.
Please note: this event is being held to purely record the service, so it can be uploaded to YouTube as a resource for those in need. This event is not in place of the actual Blue Christmas service we will hold together on Sunday 21st December.
Blue Christmas (also called 'the Longest Night') honours people that have lost loved ones and are experiencing grief. It acknowledges that Christmas can be a lonely and/or difficult time for some.
The service we will record together has been created using resources from Churches all around the world, and with writings from Holy Hermit St Julian of Norwich and Holy Hermit St John of the Cross making space for us to gather and bring our full selves into Christmas.
A Blue Christmas service is an opportunity to acknowledge the parts of us that are hurting at this time, name our griefs and sorrows before the Lord, and take heart from the saving work of Jesus and God's love which can make us whole.
The service enables us to feel while we lament and then move us to receive refreshment, healing and renewal.
