Richard is one of our licensed preachers at the Cathedral and is joining us online for the first time as our teacher for Trinity Sunday.

His bio in his own words:

My background is in ministry; I trained for pastoral ministry in the 1980s and ended up as senior pastor of a multi-staff church in suburban Brisbane in the first decade of this century. I burned out in that role which made me look at what’s going on inside me. This resulted in me completing a Masters in Counselling in 2012. I have experience working in several private practices and established my own in 2013.

When life becomes difficult to manage, we need to connect with someone who will help us make sense of it all, who will remind us of our true selves, who will help us care for ourselves again, so that we might feel whole, hopeful and joyful. Someone who will give us strategies to make the future very different from the past. This is a right of every person, to be understood, to be known, and to find a way forward.

As a counsellor, psychotherapist and community leader, I have over 20 years experience journeying with people through life’s challenges. I offer a confidential, non-threatening, accepting, affirming presence for everyone, no matter what their situation.

My practice is in a quiet, beautiful part of Coorparoo near the Brisbane CBD. I also see clients via Zoom.

Richard is married to our beloved Judy, and has a love of animals too. (Pictured with him above is Bobby).

Please pray for Richard as he joins us for the first time:

Lord Jesus, when you speak there is light and life. Please speak through all our preachers, especially Richard, as he offers his ministry gifts to our community. Holy Spirit, please inspire him in preparation and in delivering the sermon. Creator, make us ready to welcome him and hear your word spoken through him. We ask these things in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
