It is great to be welcoming Troy, our Cathedral Formation Student, to HHO for the rest of 2025.
Troy has discerned an interest in learning about digital mission and online community with us and is looking forward to starting this Sunday with the Cantor role at worship, followed by our other serving roles.
Troy will also be facilitating our upcoming mid-week studies:
Here's a little intro from Troy. Please make him feel welcome and uphold him in your regular prayers.
Hi Holy Hermits,
I’m very excited to join you all for the next few months to serve in your unique online community. I’m currently in my second year of formation training to become an ordained minister within the Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ).
I’ve spent many years worshiping and serving at Milton Anglican Parish and over the last six months, I’ve been training at St. John’s Cathedral in Brisbane City. I currently live at St. Francis Theological College where I am completing my Bachelor of Theology.
Before beginning in ministry, I had a long career working in educational publishing for companies like Jacaranda and the ABC, and teaching English, History, Drama and Media Arts at lots of different high schools. For the last few years, I’ve been very lucky to spend my days hosting interactive, live-streamed workshops for State Library of Queensland, teaching students how to research and sharing Queensland stories using State Library’s impressive heritage collections.
In my free time, I like to run with my beloved pooch, Jax, who I’m sure you will meet online with me soon. I also like acting in local theatre productions, reading and writing, and participating in lots of different cultural and outdoor activities.
I look forward to getting to know you all as we worship and share theological study together. I’m a big believer in the many positive ways that community enriches our lives and I’m very grateful to have you welcome me into yours.
See you all online soon!
All the best,
Troy
