“Holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12
Hello all and welcome to the HHO St John's Cathedral Council Reps’ blog for 03 February
2026. Leonie and I are honoured to be your representatives in this blessed space. We will be
writing this blog together to coincide with Council's monthly meetings.
Our heartfelt thanks to Julie and Barry for their outstanding work as HHO Cathedral Council
Reps for the last two years.
This year, SJC Council will focus on our Reconciliation Action Plan, having reconciliation
with First Peoples at the heart of what it is to be Christian:
“Our vision for reconciliation is a future of openness where the Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander people of this country will be restored to a place of equity, dignity,
and respect. We are committed to assisting, encouraging and resourcing ministry to
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We pledge to consult and work with
each other as equal partners in the development of our Church and land, in our
communities, parishes and diocese.”
Join us on this important, life-giving journey of recognition and respect. Keep updated on
SJC Facebook page.
Together with Dean Peter Catt, we will use a variety of contemplative practices to reflect
deeply upon our values. The following word cloud, developed by SJC Council and
congregants, is our invitation to reflect on values we wish to emulate in the love of Christ and
reconciliation:

We welcome your contact via the HHO email holyhermits@anglicanchurchsq.org.au to
discuss any issues you wish us to raise at SJC Council. For any pastoral care, please
contact a member of the HHO Pastoral Care Team.
We look forward to the year ahead!
Peace and Blessings,
Rachel and Leonie
