The Rev'd Lauren Martin joins the Cathedral Team from the 9th of March (you can see her Cathedral commissioning via the livestream) and will share ministry online with us at HHO 2 Sundays a month starting the 16th of March.
We will hold a special commissioning as part of our weekly worship liturgy that day, when Lauren will be our preacher for the 2nd Sunday in Lent.
Rev'd Lauren has been assistant curate at St Andrew's Indooroopilly and has already featured on our website resources page for the last few years!
She has a heart for the deaf community and speaks Auslan (Australian sign language), offering interpretation of sermons and prayers accross the diocese. You can see Lauren in action praying the Lord's prayer in Auslan in the video below.
Rev'd Lauren currently offers honourary ministry (unpaid, like Rev'd's Anne & Gemma) alongside running her own natropathy business and is also a cat guardian to Eveready (featured in the pic above).
Please pray for Lauren as she prepares to start a new chapter in her ministry and be with us online:
Loving God, bless Rev'd Lauren as she joins our community and offers Diaconal ministry alongside us.
Be with her as she transitions from St Andrew's to the Cathedral and into the online space.
Give her all the resources she needs to outreach in your name with the deaf community and join in making Church accessible using the vehicle of technology at Holy Hermits Online.
Open our hearts so that we may recieve Lauren and embrace all the gifts that she brings into our midst.
Lord Jesus, give us your grace and discernment as we mission in your name and bless our new season of life together.
In the name of God, Holy Trinity, Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier we pray. Amen.
