Mike Uptin has been a priest in the Anglican Church Southern Queensland for over 21 years. He did his curacy at St Luke’s Toowoomba and then was the Rector of Dalby (2004-2008) and Surfers Paradise (2008-2021) before resigning to take on the role as Regional Officer for the Bush Church Aid Society of Australia (BCA).

BCA is a mission agency committed to providing clergy and other Christian workers for Christian churches and communities in rural and remote Australia.

As Regional Officer, Mike’s role is to encourage Christians to support those who go into rural and remote ministry through prayer, visits and giving – as well as to be on the lookout for those whom God is calling to “go west”.

Please uphold Rev'd Mike in prayer as he prepares to join us at HHO worship for the first time:

Lord Jesus, when you speak there is light and life. Please speak through our guest preachers, especially Mike as he offers his ministry gifts to our community. Holy Spirit, please inspire him in preparation and in delivering the sermon. Creator, make us ready to welcome him and hear your word spoken through him. We ask these things in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
