Rev. Steve is already known to us at HHO, as many of his poems have featured in our worship devotions, send outs and often have been included in sermons. 

Welcoming Steve to worship on the 23rd of July 2023 as our guest preacher is a wonderful opportunity for us to be known to this generous poet and prayerful pastor. 

Now retired from full-time ministry Steve devotes much of his time to making his library of liturgical poetry available to the wider Church.

One of the ways that he shares his work is on the website Unfolding Light – Daily Reflections and Worship Resources which is one of our recommended resources for anyone who wishes to use poetry to unlock the Word or theme of the week.

Please pray for Steve as he prepares to join us at worship from Maine, USA:

Lord Jesus, when you speak there is light and life. Please speak through our guest preachers, especially Steve as he offers his ministry gifts to our community. Holy Spirit, please inspire him in preparation and in delivering the sermon. Creator, make us ready to welcome him and hear your word spoken through him. We ask these things in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
