For Christians, a focus on ‘creation’, rather than the ‘environment’ or ‘ecology’, underscores the interconnectedness of all life, affirming the deep connection we have with the broader created order and encouraging a genuine love and concern for all that God has created. ~ Rev’d Prof Rodney Wolff

You are invited to join us in a creative mini-retreat for the Season of Creation. Through collage, mark making and slow stitching we will explore the interconnectedness of our lives with creation.

In the season of creation, we are called to be co-creators with God. The call to action however can seem overwhelming, daunting and beyond our individual capabilities.

This retreat offers a time of reflection using creative exercises to explore what is possible for us to contribute by examining this interconnectedness of all life.

Hopefully this will lead to discovering how can we contribute, in some small way, to the mighty river of peace and justice.

Resources/ Materials

You are encouraged to use what you have rather than purchase anything special for this event.

We will be needing:

  • paper and pencils/ markers for mark making,
  • a range of coloured or patterned paper (magazines etc are fine),
  • glue and a sheet of paper for the base for collage,
  • fabric scraps,
  • pins,
  • scissors,
  • needle and thread for the slow stitching

A piece of calico or other fabric to act as the base would be helpful.

Again please use and adapt what you have as we go along.

If stitching is difficult for you the exercise can be adapted to mark making instead.

Registration

The nominal fee of $15 AUD helps us to commit to the retreat - however if this is a barrier for you, please get in touch as we want to include everyone who is called to this space.

Click the register button below to get on the send out list for the pre-retreat pack which will be sent the Sunday before we gather.

Registrations close on the 10th of September at Noon AEST.
